Madison, WI – Attorney Hal Harlowe, former three-term District Attorney in Dane County and managing shareholder of Hal Harlowe & Associates, has joined the law firm of Murphy Desmond S.C.
Harlowe’s trial experience includes representing defendants in juvenile and criminal defense cases, defending licensed professionals in disciplinary matters, and litigating civil and criminal cases in state and federal courts that range from basic matters to highly complex litigation.
A significant part of Harlowe’s practice is in representing licensed professionals in negotiating contracts, responding to regulatory inquiries, and in defending against ethics allegations and criminal prosecutions. He has represented physicians, nurses, pharmacists, chiropractors, lawyers, psychologists, real estate brokers, and other licensed professionals. Harlowe’s prior experience with the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing (now the Department of Safety and Professional Services) and as the Chairperson of the Governor’s Task Force on the Discipline of Licensed Professionals makes him uniquely qualified to defend his clients.
Harlowe earned his law degree from the UW Law School in 1970, and began his first elected term as Dane County D.A. in 1983. He is included on lists for Best Lawyers in America® and Wisconsin Super Lawyers® and has received the top AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell®.
