MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Press Club’s Past Presidents Council once again has nominated an outstanding slate of journalists and media professionals for induction into the Milwaukee Media Hall of Fame, set for Friday, October 26, 2012.

“The Hall of Fame class of 2012 is truly outstanding. It includes journalists who have done much to advance the profession in the state of Wisconsin and beyond. They have honored us by keeping us informed and enlightened, now it is our turn to honor them,” says press club president Mary Van de Kamp Nohl. “We look forward to this esteemed Milwaukee Press Club event and the opportunity to once again be inspired by a these exemplary journalists as they highlight their most memorable experiences.”

The 2012 inductees to the Wisconsin Media Hall of Fame include:
* Cary Edwards, award winning photojournalist and chief photoghrapher, WISN-12
* Jill Geisler, former news director, WITI-6 and current Poynter Institute senior faculty
* Dean Jensen, former Milwaukee Sentinel reporter, arts critic and author
* Betty Quadracci, publisher, Milwaukee Magazine
* Marcheta (Keta) Steebs, columnist, Door County Advocate
* Harry Kemp, free lance photographer, Milwaukee Community Journal, Milwaukee Courier, Milwaukee Times, Milwaukee Brewers (deceased)
* Richard Wheeler, founder of state capitol Wheeler Report (deceased)

Relatives, friends and co-workers of the inductees, as well as members of the Milwaukee Press Club and the general public, are invited to attend. The event will take place at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in the Woodland Dreams Ballroom at 1721 W. Canal Street in Milwaukee, with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The induction ceremony will begin immediately after dinner. Tickets are $60 per person; tables of eight are available for $460. (All attendees must be age 18 or older.)

The Milwaukee Press Club, founded in 1885, is the oldest continuously operating press club in North America. Proceeds from Milwaukee Press Club programming benefit the MPC Endowment, Ltd., and its scholarship fund.
