Proposed Tower Will Be Second Tallest Building in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele will unveil a proposed $120 million development for the Downtown Transit Center on Wednesday. The project will bring more than 4,400 construction jobs and 200 permanent jobs to Milwaukee.

Developer Rick Barrett is proposing a 44-story hotel and apartment building, featuring restaurants, retail space and parking.

“I want to thank Economic Development Director Brian Taffora who has guided this process along since the beginning. I also want to thank the members of the County Board who have been so helpful in moving this forward,” Abele said. “This project will be a great addition to the Milwaukee Lakefront, bringing jobs and a strong tax base for decades to come.”
