Make-A-Wish Wisconsin: Bergstrom Automotive receives highest honor from Make-A-Wish Wisconsin

W.I.S.H. Award presented to Bergstrom Automotive at Host Night on March 29, 2012

BUTLER, WI – On Thursday evening, March 29 at Host Night, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s signature gala, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin presented Bergstrom Automotive with its highest honor – the Winners In Sharing Happiness (W.I.S.H.) Award. This award is given annually to companies or individuals whose extraordinary contributions have made an indelible impact on Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. For the past decade, Bergstrom Automotive has distinguished itself with its steadfast commitment to Wisconsin children living with life-threatening medical conditions.

As one of the largest privately-held corporations in the state, Bergstrom Automotive sets the bar high for community leadership. Chairman & CEO, John F. Bergstrom, encourages every Bergstrom team member to focus on raising more than just funds. “Our Make-A-Wish efforts are successful thanks to the individual efforts of hundreds of Bergstrom teammates who voluntarily change oil, wash cars, run bake sales and sell hot dogs, along with many other ingenious activities, said John Bergstrom. “Their passion and commitment to help others in need is truly special.” Through arranging both in-kind and paid media advertising, Bergstrom also heightens community awareness of the Make-A-Wish® mission.

2011 marked the 10th consecutive year that Bergstrom has supported Make-A-Wish through its Drive for Dreams campaign, which raises funds with a variety of in-store and employee-run activities each October. Since its inception, Drive for Dreams has raised more than $650,000 and granted the wishes of more than 135 Wisconsin wish children.

“Bergstrom Automotive has become an integral part of the Make-A-Wish family, and their entire team goes above and beyond to make magical wishes come true,” said Make-A-Wish Wisconsin President & CEO, Patti Gorsky. “Their commitment to the Make-A-Wish mission resonates across the state throughout the year and we are thrilled to present them with the W.I.S.H. Award.”

The W.I.S.H. Award was created in 2000 and has been presented to individuals and organizations like Midwest Airlines, The Green Bay Packers, Hunzinger Construction Company, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club and Badger Mutual Insurance Company.
