MADISON, Wis. (Monday, September 27, 2012)–Discover the wonders of American crafts at Madison Children’s Museum’s second annual Fall Art Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7. Held in collaboration with American Craft Week, local artists will be on hand to showcase a broad range of classical crafts.

Get a first-hand look at the traditional style of Wycianki, or paper cutting, with The Polish Heritage Club of Madison. Metalworking will be featured with Assistant Professor Teresa Faris and her University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students. Mini workshops and demonstrations will also be held, including still life and pastel drawing, cake decorating, Origami paper folding, knitting, blacksmithing, ceramics, and painting.

The second annual Fall Art Weekend is free with museum admission; registration is not required. American Craft Week, October 5-14, held nationwide with diverse events at galleries, art studios, museums, schools, fairs, and festivals.
