MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee-based, award-winning architecture and experience design firm Kahler Slater, in association with Port City Architecture of Portland, Maine, has been selected to plan and design two new facilities for the University of New England – the Oral Health Center and the Inter-Professional Education Clinic.

The two facilities will be housed within the same building on the university’s Portland, Maine campus. The facilities are scheduled to open in fall 2013.

The Oral Health Center will open with the university’s new College of Dental Medicine. It will include state-of-the-art simulation facilities where students can practice the technical aspects of dentistry on simulated patients, as well as a teaching clinic where students can practice on other students and serve patients from the surrounding community.

The Inter-Professional Education Clinic will be a teaching clinic providing comprehensive, high-quality, person- and family-centered primary and preventive health care services to residents of Portland and the surrounding community.
