K’s For A Cause Returns to Miller Park

Milwaukee (April 5, 2012) — Foley & Lardner LLP announced the firm will once again team up with the Brewers Community Foundation and conduct the season-long K’s For A Cause program, naming Hunger Task Force as the recipient of funds raised for the fifth year of the program. Each time a Brewer pitcher strikes out an opponent at Miller Park, two things happen: A big blue ‘K’ appears on the K’s For A Cause strikeout meter in right field, and Foley employees make a donation to fight hunger.

The public is invited to join the cause by pledging to donate per strikeout or by making a one-time donation by visiting hungertaskforce.org. Fans can also “text out” hunger with their cell phones by texting FOOD to 52000 to donate $10.

The Brewers Community Foundation will once again be partnering in K’s for a Cause this year, tapping a member of the Brewers pitching staff to contribute $25 for each strike out pitched at Miller Park. Foley and the Brewers Community Foundation established this unique partnership in March 2008 and have raised more than $500,000 toward feeding Milwaukee over the last four seasons.

“Wisconsin baseball fans know how to have a good time and making a difference in their community while they cheer on the Brewers makes the game even better,” said Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force Executive Director. “The Foley ‘K board’ adds fun for your office, your family, or your buddies because there’s an even greater reason to root for a win.”

“Foley has a long history in Wisconsin, including significant support for the needs of Milwaukee’s non-profit community,” said Linda Benfield, office managing partner of Foley’s Milwaukee office. “The Foley family has generously donated over $500,000 to The Hunger Task Force over the last four years, and we are proud to announce that all proceeds from the fifth year of this program will continue to fight hunger in the Milwaukee community.
