(APPLETON, WI) — Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc., an integrated Total Project Management firm, has been named a 2012 winner of the Workplace Excellence Award. The award, which Hoffman received at the New North Summit at the Paper Valley Hotel on Friday, December 7th, recognizes organizations that improve their competitive advantage through people practices, leading to successful business results.

Hoffman was selected for the award, which is presented by New North, Inc. and Right Management Inc., by the Attract, Develop and Retain Diverse Talent Committee of New North.

“Receiving the Workplace Excellence Award is a tremendous honor for everyone at Hoffman,” said Miles Girouard, Hoffman owner and president. “Our employees are our greatest asset, and we continually strive to offer a positive work environment that gives them ownership and fosters constant interaction to share ideas and improvements. We want to help them achieve their individual career and personal goals, and to become company, industry, and community leaders.”

Hoffman’s plan of providing employees more responsibility, authority, and accountability in significant aspects of the company was a primary focus for the award. Sharing the
company’s financials with all employees on a monthly basis and creating expanded business development training and participation opportunities also contributed to the company’s positive culture while helping business grow.

Focused on partnering with local organizations to help them meet their needs, Hoffman recently completed construction on Affinity Medical Group’s new two-story clinic in downtown Neenah, and is currently renovating the former City Center Hotel in Oshkosh.

The Workplace Excellence Award is presented annually to organizations within the 18-county New North region of Wisconsin.
