Waunakee Company Goes Green With the Green Masters Program

Uniek Inc. earned Green Professional status under the WI Sustainable Business Council’s Green Masters program for their ongoing commitment to sustainability.

The picture frame and home decor company, which is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and waste, earned more than 100 points to qualify for the Green Professional status.

Uniek has implemented creative strategies which define them as a leader in sustainability,” says Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. “Uniek has made going green personal in terms of their strategy. They’ve adopted environmental and social programs that benefit their communities, employees and their customers.”

“Uniek is very glad to have once again participated in the WI Sustainable Business Council conference, and to have achieved Green Professional status for two consecutive years.” said Brian Duzan, Facility and Maintenance Manager at Uniek Inc. “We have continued to develop our sustainability initiatives year after year and find the Green Masters Program a valuable resource for our sustainability journey.”

The Green Professional designation is the second highest tier in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. Candidates are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues from energy and natural resource use to education outreach and purchasing. Over 90 Wisconsin businesses have participated in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest “Green Master” designation.
