The Green Masters Program recognizes MillerCoors as a Leader in Sustainability

MillerCoors continues its participation in the WI Sustainable Business Council’s Green Masters Program by earning Green Professional status. The company’s sustainability commitments are exemplified across all aspects of their business. As a Green Professional, MillerCoors has performed actions in each of nine “sustainability areas,” and has earned more than 100 points.

MillerCoors works to make beer using less water and more than 99 percent of all brewery waste is reused or recycled. It has surpassed its 2015 goal for waste reduction, by eliminating 20 percent of the waste it sends to landfills. “It is exciting to see MillerCoors rewarded again for its continued involvement in sustainability,” said Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. “The company has been a model for businesses throughout the state by demonstrating how sustainability can be incorporated into company operations, building design and attracting employees.”

“MillerCoors is pleased to receive Green Professional status from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council,” said Kim Marotta, director of corporate social responsibility for MillerCoors.  “We proudly attribute this achievement to our dedicated employees in Milwaukee and across the company who work hard every day to embed sustainability into our operations.”

The Green Professional designation is the second highest tier in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. Candidates are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues from energy and natural resource use to education outreach and purchasing. 92 Wisconsin businesses have participated in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest “Green Master” designation.
