Lauterbach Group Inc. is one of a select group of companies to earn the designation of “Green Master”, the highest tier in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. As a Green Master, Lauterbach Group Inc. has performed actions in each of the nine sustainability areas and has scored in the top twenty percent of all participating companies.

“Lauterbach Group Inc. is an exemplary sustainable Wisconsin business,” says Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. “The Lauterbach Group Inc. understands the importance and benefits to integrating sustainability across the company culture and we hope others in the industry follow in their footsteps.”

“Lauterbach Group Inc. is honored to earn Green Master status under the Green Masters Program,” said Shane Lauterbach, President and CEO of the Lauterbach Group.

Lauterbach Group is a privately owned, midsize, award-winning flexographic printer located in Sussex, Wisconsin committed to environmental stewardship, sustainable, and green initiatives. They partner with clients and suppliers to reduce their environmental impact. These sustainable measures have led to rapid growth while securing a diverse clientele base in a variety of commercial markets.

Their corporate headquarters and printing facility was recognized in March 2010 as a Silver LEED™ certified building having less impact on the environment, providing greater production efficiencies and greatly reducing operating costs. Group members are dedicated to utilizing new “clean” technologies to reuse process waste, actively recycling while reducing energy and natural resource consumption to include: reclamation of water, inks, pallets, product packing and obsolete materials. The company has made significant headway toward its eventual goal of zero landfill waste. The amount of waste material diverted from landfill is currently 60%, compared to 2009, when it was 11%.

The Lauterbach Group believes in creating an exceptional client experience through ease of doing business, protecting the client’s brand and keeping promises and making great packaging and labeling products.

Applicants to the Green Masters Program are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues, from energy to water use to educational outreach and governance. Over 90 Wisconsin businesses are participating in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest “Green Master” designation.
