Godfrey & Kahn: Attorneys named 2012 40 under 40 award honorees

MADISON (March 19, 2012) –Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is proud to announce that attorneys Heather Clefisch and Josh Johanningmeier were 2012 recipients of InBusiness’ prestigious 40 under 40 award.
The 40 under 40 awards honor individuals in the Madison area for exceptional leadership qualities based on professional expertise and community involvement. A panel of judges voted to decide honorees.

Clefisch is member of the firm’s Corporate, Healthcare, Real Estate and Renewable Energy Practice Groups. She counsels her business and healthcare clients in a wide variety of areas including: mergers and acquisitions, financing, and renewable energy project development. Additionally, she assists both large commercial lenders and borrowers on commercial loan financings and other commercial real estate transactions. Clefisch’s selection reflects her commitment to the community where she has served as the past chair of Girls on the Run of Dane County and scholarship chair of Wisconsin Women in Government.

Clefisch received her Bachelor’s degree from Luther College and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and New York.

Johanningmeier is chair of the firm’s Products Liability and Torts Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. In product litigation, Johanningmeier defends manufacturers in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death and property damage. Johanningmeier also works with manufacturers to assess and develop on-product warnings, as well as instruction and user manuals for products. He also counsels manufacturers, distributors and retailers on regulatory compliance and recall issues. Johanningmeier’s insurance law work includes serving as General Counsel to the Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin (the “Big I”), the state’s largest insurance agency trade association. He also represents insurance companies and agents in litigation and before the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance.

Johanningmeier received his Bachelor’s degree from Luther College, his Master’s degree from Iowa State University, and his Juris Doctor, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa. He is licensed to practice in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as various federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
