Middleton, WI (26 September 2012) — Local lighting manufacturer ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.) is leading the way in its industry in green innovation. ETC’s new Source Four LED™ spotlight won a prestigious Award for Sustainability at the recent PLASA 2012 entertainment-technology tradeshow in London, UK, against strong international competition.

ETC’s Source Four LED spotlight excels in efficacy, performing at 30 to over 40 lumens per watt. The powerful light saves energy while still creating beauty and artistry for stage, TV/film production, and architectural applications. Among recent customers of the LED spotlight: France TV Sports during the London Olympics, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and the Novel Hall for Performing Arts in Taipei, Taiwan. The Source Four LED combines features of ETC’s hugely popular incandescent Source Four® spotlight with the intelligence and color system of ETC’s Selador® Desire™ LED luminaires.

ETC’s CEO Fred Foster responded to the honor, which was awarded on September 10th: “The Source LED is another green light within our Source Four line. We engineered it to be an addition to the lighting-design toolbox and to blend beautifully with the different light sources in today’s lighting rigs.”

This is the second international award for ETC’s Source Four LED spotlight, which also won Lighting Product of the Year at the ABTT (Association of British Theatre Technicians) trade show in June, also held in London.

ETC is a global leader in entertainment technology, with high-profile clients throughout the world as well as numerous venues locally, from high school theaters to TV stations, University of Wisconsin theaters, the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, and the Overture Center.
