Edgewood College: Record freshman class arrives Saturday

Madison, Wis. (August 22, 2012) – When the Class of 2016 arrives this Saturday, August 25, it will be the largest entering class in Edgewood College history. A total of 340 students are expected.

“It is an honor and a privilege to welcome these outstanding students to campus,” says Director of Undergraduate Admissions Christine Benedict. “These young people recognize the opportunities that Edgewood College offers to connect hands-on learning to meaningful experiences.” While Wisconsin students continue to comprise the majority of freshmen, this year’s class also includes students from Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Ohio, North Carolina, and Utah in addition to international students from Bangladesh, Germany, Singapore and Zimbabwe.

Students this Fall will also enjoy the Visual & Theatre Arts Center, the newest building on campus, which has just opened. The 44,000 square-foot, three-story building will be home for the College’s Theatre Arts and Art Departments. A dedication ceremony for the new Center is scheduled for September 22, 2012.
