Five lucky winners receive U.S. Women’s Open tickets, Wisconsin golf packages and prizes

MADISON, Wis. (July 2, 2012) — Five lucky winners of Travel Wisconsin’s Summer Golf Sweepstakes will experience the U.S. Women’s Open for free when it comes to Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis. July 5-8. Contestants entered the sweepstakes via SMS text message or through a QR code featured on a print ad. Winners were randomly selected.

The winners include:

Grand prize winner, Eric Meehan from Wauwatosa, Wis. Eric won four tickets, food and beverage vouchers and a parking pass to the final round of the U.S. Women’s Open, one night accommodations for four at the Inn at Woodlake, a round of golf for four at Blackwolf Run on Monday after the tournament, four U.S. Women’s Open hats and two dozen U.S. Women’s Open golf balls.

Three second prize winners: Chris Sego from Batavia, Ill., Michael Modena from Park Ridge, Ill., and Lannon Rogers from Waukesha, Wis. Each won a Platinum Passport that includes greens fees for 28 of the best golf courses in Wisconsin and a weekend ticket package for two to the U.S. Women’s Open.

Third place winner, Ann Powers from Gurnee, Ill., who won a weekend ticket package for two to the U.S. Women’s Open.

“With over 400 courses around the state that are open to the public, there is no shortage of golfing in Wisconsin,” said Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett. “We’re thrilled not only to host the U.S. Women’s Open and show off our world class golf courses, but to offer travelers the opportunity to experience this incredible event with this sweepstakes.”
