Mark your calendar for grazing seminars at World Dairy Expo
MADISON – The fourth annual Grazing Seminar series will be held on Friday, October 5 at World Dairy Expo in Madison. Save the date for this popular grazing series, which will begin at 10:00 am in the Mendota 3 Room of the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center.
Topics will include using automatic milking systems (robotic milkers) in grazing systems and balancing supplementation with high grain costs. A question and answer session with grazing experts from around the world will also be held.
“Well-managed pastures are a common part of dairy farming systems worldwide,” said Laura Paine, Grazing Specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. “We are pleased to support an increased presence of grazing at World Dairy Expo.”
The seminar speakers will be on hand for a grazing reception starting at 3:00 pm immediately following the last seminar. The goal of the reception is to give interested farmers a chance to network and socialize with the speakers and with each other. The seminars and reception are co-sponsored by DATCP, UW Extension and dairy industry partners. Interested producers are invited to participate.
The 2012 World Dairy Expo will be held October 2-6. For general information on World Dairy Expo, visit www.worlddairyexpo.com.
