SHEBOYGAN, WI – A locally-grown business with global reach is expanding in Sheboygan, retaining over 400 jobs and making a significant investment in the community. And the partnership between the City of Sheboygan and Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, working to assist local companies with expansions and new investment, continues to show results.
Earlier today, American Orthodontics Corporation (AO) announced the purchase of the former Thomas Industries property located at 3524 Washington Avenue in Sheboygan.
According to City of Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan, “I am thrilled American Orthodontics has the confidence and faith in the citizens of Sheboygan to invest in our community through this major expansion project. We look forward to having them as a prominent employer and local corporate partner for many years to come.”
Gary Dulmes, Chairman of the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, indicated, “American Orthodontics was willing to proactively work with the City and SCEDC to discuss their local growth opportunities, and identify local resources to help make their move happen. We congratulate AO leadership on this positive business move.”
According to City of Sheboygan Development Manager Chad Pelishek, “We will work cooperatively with American Orthodontics as they transition into their new facilities, and will also help identify prospective tenants or prospective start-up companies seeking space in AO’s existing space along Cambridge Avenue and 18th Street. The growth of one of our major corporate citizens should result in new opportunity for other local businesses.”
