Beaver Dam, Wis., September 25, 2012—Chippy’s Popcorn Creations, new gourmet popcorn shop in Beaver Dam, invites popcorn lovers to celebrate the opening of its retail location October 12 through 14. Come discover how Chippy’s has taken popcorn to a new level in flavor, freshness and food fun.
Culinary experts, Scott and Linda Chipman, owner-operators of Chippy’s Popcorn Creations bring 20 years of restaurant industry experience to the art of popping corn. The Chipmans’ use their secret recipes and cook-from-scratch expertise to craft every handmade batch of gourmet popcorn.
When: Friday, Oct. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, Oct 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The celebration will feature free tastes and entertainment:
• Popcorn Bar of Chippy’s signature flavors — guests add butter flavoring and toppings to make their own creation.
• Samples of Mrs. Chippy’s Caramel Corn and Chippy’s Cider Grogg
• Local tastes of fresh-squeezed lemonade, Blumer’s soda, Kelley’s Country Creamery ice cream and freshly roasted Black Waters Coffee.
• Giveaways — sign up to win prizes! Grand prize gift basket with packages of Chippy’s three signature flavors and one seasonal flavor corn; a giant 4 foot tube of Old Fashioned Kettle Corn.
• Chippy’s Kettle Corn stand will pop up outside the shop to offer tastes on Saturday of signature kettle corn handmade the old fashioned way: hand stirred with wooden paddles over open fire kettles in front of one’s eyes.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Chipman’s will share secrets to making gourmet popcorn with an inside look and demonstration using the Whirley Popper and the Glass Microwave Popper. In community-minded spirit, the Chipman’s will donate 15% of grand opening sales to CHERUBS, The Association of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research, Awareness and Support.
Chippy’s offers more than 30 unique gourmet and signature popcorn flavors including, Mrs. Chippy’s Caramel Corn, Chicago Style Cheddar, Chicago Style White Cheddar and Old Fashioned Kettle Corn. Specialty blends include Pretzel Chip Kat Crunch, YummChata Oatmeal Cookie, Cherry Cheesecake, S’mores, Midnight Espresso, Apple Cran Harvest and Poppy Chow. Seasonal favorites are popping too, like Pumpkin Pie Spice, a buttery, caramely corn with all the flavors of pumpkin pie spices.
