Green Bay, WI – The Bay Area Humane Society will hold its 13th annual PetWalk on June 2 starting at 9:30 am. The PetWalk is a non-competitive 3-mile walk that starts and ends at the Shelter. This year’s goal is to raise $75,000.

Participants can register ahead of time online at PetWalk2012.com, where they’ll find a great list of incentives they can receive for meeting their fundraising goals. The rewards start at $75 and go through $2,500, with the $2,500 prize being the New iPad.

Over 700 pets and people take part in the walk that starts at 9:30 a.m. It’s not just for dogs – all sorts of well-behaved pets and people without pets are welcome. People can also participate without a pet.

Steve and Laura from Star 98 host the day for a fun morning with lots of family activities including:

* Pet nail trimming

* A Pet obstacle course

* A dunk tank, rubber ducky game, pet communicator, face painting and more!

Because Bay Area Humane Society does not receive funding from government or national animal welfare organizations, PetWalk is a critical fundraiser that helps cover the costs of providing care, protection and placement for thousands of lost and abandoned animals in our area each year.
