ASA: Midwest Truck Tour making first 2012 trip to Madison International Speedway

By Kari Shear-Carlson

The ASA Midwest SCAG Truck Tour heads to Madison International Speedway this Friday, June 29th for its third event of the 2012 season.

There have only been two events so far this season after Marshfield Motor Speedway was rained out on Saturday, June 16th. This has kept the points battle very tight. Only seven points separate the top five. The current point leader is James Swan with 312 points. Dan Barber is second only two points behind Swan (310) followed by Chad Knaus with 309. Brothers Jerry and John Wood are tied for fourth with 305 points.

This Friday night the Trucks will head to Madison International Speedway for their third event. In 2011 they made three trips to the the track with three different winners. Bobby Wilberg, Austin Luedtke, and Dan Lensing each made it to victory lane in 2011, none of which have yet competed in 2012.

Will James Swan be able to hold on to his point lead and get his first ever Truck win, or will one of the veteran Wood brothers defend their home turf and get a first win of the season?

Head on out to Madison International Speedway this Friday night, June 29th. Qualifying starts at 6:00PM followed by Madison’s regular night of weekly racing.
