ASA: Midwest tour supporting Marshfield Motor Speedway’s Yellow River racing series

Sun Prairie, WI (Thursday, May 24, 2012) – The ASA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings has announced they will present a total of $1,000 towards Marshfield Motor Speedway’s Yellow River Racing Series point fund this season. $500 will be awarded to highest ASA Midwest Tour competitor participating in the series, with the other $500 being awarded to the highest finishing non-regular ASA Midwest Tour competitor.

“Wayne Brevik has gone out of his way to adjust his season schedule with our last minute changes,” Tim Olson, ASA President said. “We appreciate his efforts and felt that we should support his Yellow River Racing Series this season. With us adding an additional $1,000 to his point fund, we are encouraging our ASA Midwest Tour competitors to participate in these events.”

The Yellow River Racing Series is a three event series with the first round taking place this Saturday night, May 26. Round two will be on Saturday, July 14 and the finale as part of their annual Fall Shootout on September 28 & 29.

“We are grateful that the ASA Midwest Tour has stepped up with their additional $1,000 to our Yellow River Racing Series,” Wayne Brevik, Marshfield Motor Speedway Promoter said. “We also thank them for encouraging their Touring Stars to come and be a part of this as well. I think the fans will see some great racing with the best Central Wisconsin drivers competing against the best in the ASA Midwest Tour.”

The ASA Midwest Tour will also have their fifth event of the 2012 season at Marshfield Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 30. “I think some of our drivers will want to come and get ready for that event,” Olson said. “You know, I may get my car out and compete in this as well.”

The racing action will get underway at 6:30pm on Saturday with a full racing program. The 60-lap Yellow River Racing Series Super Late Model feature will headline the evening’s action. Gates open at 4:30pm with qualifying at 5pm. The Super Stocks, CWMSA Mods, Pure Stock Invitational Round One, Motorcycles, and Vintage cars will also be in action.

Adult admission this Saturday is $12 for ages 15 & up, $8 for students ages 9-14, Children 8 & Under FREE.
