AG Van Hollen: Business owner charged with multiple felonies is bound over for trial

MADISON — On February 16, 2012, Kent Haluska appeared before the Brown County Court Commissioner for a scheduled preliminary hearing. Mr. Haluska is charged in Brown County with three felony counts, including Two counts of Forgery and One count of Fraudulent Writings.

Mr. Haluska waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was therefore bound over for trial on all three counts. An arraignment has been set for February 28, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Brown County Circuit Court.

Also, on February 16, 2012, Kent Haluska appeared before Judge Gill in Outagamie County for a scheduled preliminary hearing. Mr. Haluska is charged in Outagamie County with seven felony counts, including Three counts of Identity Theft, Three counts of Forgery and One count of Felony theft of more than $5000.

Mr. Haluska waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was therefore bound over for trial. An arraignment has been set for February 28, 2012, at 1:15 p.m. in Outagamie County Circuit Court.

Mr. Haluska is presumed innocent and the State will be required to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at a trial. These matters were investigated by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and the DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
