BROOKFIELD, WI — The Wisconsin Wireless Association (WiWA) will hold an educational business meeting on May 5, 2011, at the Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton Street in Madison, Wisconsin. The topic is, “The Dynamics of DAS.” The meeting begins with registration and networking at 11:00 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., and the business meeting starting at 12:15 a.m.

The meeting will include presentations by wireless industry leaders on the explosive growth of Distributed Antenna Systems, or DAS. “DAS is quickly emerging as a powerful tool for wireless network deployments,” commented WiWA President Jeff Roznowski. “DAS is a collection of small antennas that boost signal coverage, fill in dead spots and add capacity to networks. DAS technologies can be used for indoor locations such as large buildings and shopping malls, as well as for outdoor purposes such as tunnels,” explained Roznowski. The session will cover an overview and introduction of the DAS technology, as well as examples of both indoor and outdoor applications.

Presenters include Gene Beall, Executive Vice President for Mobilitie; PJ Kirkpatrick, Director of Engineering and Implementation for Rizzo Consulting; and Tim Asta, Director of Municipal Affairs for ExteNet.
