The Sustainable Business Council announces the 4th annual Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Conference. The conference will be held on December 8th, 2011 at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center and is specifically designed for Wisconsin businesses to share ideas, best practices, and lessons on the topic of sustainability.

This year’s conference will highlight the business case for sustainability. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter the world of sustainability by hearing throughout the day from leaders of Wisconsin’s businesses. They will hear about innovative and economical steps, successes and failures, and key lessons in sustainability efforts.

Ken Bonning, Senior Executive Vice President overseeing sustainability at the Kohl’s Corporation, will be the keynote speaker and will discuss the leadership role Kohl’s played in the retail industry and for businesses across the country. Recently, Kohl’s was recognized as the second greenest business in Wisconsin.

“This year’s conference is about giving businesses of all sizes the tools and knowledge to compete on the sustainability field. Business leaders will be describing their efforts to green their processes and products. We expect all attendees to leave with new ideas, tools, and practices that can be implemented immediately.” -Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Conference.

In its 4th annual year, the conference has earned its reputation as a pragmatic, practice-defining conference. Small business owners, business managers interested in sustainability, and corporate leaders around the state will gather to discuss their progress in sustainability and offer insights into implementing sustainable at the business level. Regardless of where Wisconsin businesses are on the sustainability learning curve, this conference will help businesses assess their opportunities and realize the financial benefits of integrating sustainability into business operations.
The Conference will be held on December 8th, 2011 from 8:00 – 5:00. For additional information on the conference, see http://www.bus.wisc.edu/business-sustainability/council/2011-annual-conference/overview/ or send an email to sustain@bus.wisc.edu.
