UW-Stevens Point: Aquaponics workshop offered in collaboration with UW-Stevens Point

A workshop on aquaponics, the science of raising both crops and fish in an integrated culture system, will be offered in Montello on Dec. 8–10 through Nelson and Pade, Inc. in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education.

“Aquaponics and Controlled Environment Agriculture” is a comprehensive workshop that will cover all aspects of aquaponics and controlled environment agriculture. It includes information on methods and applications, crop choices, water quality, daily operation and growing techniques, greenhouses and environmental control, fish biology and feeds, plant care and health, system start up and business considerations, and much more.

Held at the Marquette County Service Center and the Nelson and Pade, Inc. Demonstration Greenhouse in Montello, this workshop attracts attendees from around the world due to the high quality of experience, depth of information and the extensive knowledge the Nelson and Pade, Inc. team can offer.

The cost of the three-day workshop is $895 and includes course materials, certificate of participation, breakfast and lunch each day. There are 1.95 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available for an additional $15 fee. In addition, this workshop is available for an add-on university credit in Biology 498/698, which has an additional cost. Full payment of tuition must accompany the credit registration form and be received by December 12, 2011.
