University of Phoenix: Milwaukee resident receives community service award

University of Phoenix Recognizes Excellence in Volunteerism and Honors Alumna

MILWAUKEE, WI (November 2, 2011) – University of Phoenix, the nation’s largest private university, today announced that it has awarded alumna Kallie Molitor with a Community Service Award for her commitment to Milwaukee’s youth through her work with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee at the Engleburg Community Learning Center.

“University of Phoenix is dedicated to supporting the communities we call home, so it’s an honor to recognize alumna Kallie Molitor with our Community Service Award for donating her time and energy back to our local area,” said Dave Steffen, University of Phoenix Milwaukee Campus director. “Kallie demonstrates the passion and drive needed to make a difference through her work at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and commitment to making a difference.”

Molitor began working with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee when she was pursuing her undergraduate degree in nonprofit management. Following her undergrad, Molitor spent time working with Energy Services, a nonprofit organization that provides home heating assistance to residents in Waukesha County. In February 2010, Molitor returned to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee with a desire to do something that she felt would make a difference. She currently assists the Club with member management and recruitment at the Engleburg Community Learning Center location.

“I had always contemplated teaching, but didn’t feel it would allow me to reach the kids who needed my help the most,” said Molitor. “I love my career; it fulfills my drive to work with kids and make a difference in their lives and their futures. University of Phoenix gave me the tools to help Milwaukee kids who need it, and help the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee remain healthy and continue to grow.”

Molitor received a Masters of Business Administration from University of Phoenix Milwaukee Campus in 2009. Each year, University of Phoenix Alumni Association celebrates alumni who are making a difference and giving back to their community. This acknowledgement recognizes graduates for their efforts to better the communities in which they live and work.
