The Recovery Foundation: Recovery organization to host Voices for Recovery luncheon to raise awareness of substance use disorders in Dane County

More than 23 million people in the United States need treatment annually for a substance use disorder. Many people in Dane County are affected by addiction. To raise awareness of this disease and inform people of the available treatment and recovery resources locally, the Recovery Foundation, Connections Counseling and Hazelden have combined resources to host a Voices for Recovery Luncheon.

Keynote speaker is William Cope Moyer who will honor and celebrate those living and working in the recovery community. William has worked with CNN and Newsweek and written a best seller, Broken, which focuses on recovery from substance abuse. He spent his earlier years experimenting with drugs culminating in addiction to crack cocaine. Moyers will share his personal struggles with addiction and triumphs in recovery.
