Marquette University High School Alumni Association praises alumnus Charles C. DuBois as a community leader

PALMYRA, Wis. (August 9, 2011)—Charles C. DuBois, president and co-owner of whole food supplement manufacturing company Standard Process Inc., was awarded one of two 2011 Marquette University High School (MUHS) Alumni Merit Awards based on his community leadership and professional achievements. DuBois, a 1983 graduate of the school, accepted the award on July 15 during the school’s annual reunion weekend.

“Charlie DuBois, being a true ‘man for others’ is a perfect fit for our MUHS Alumni Merit Award which recognizes his professional achievement in the fields of business and manufacturing,” said Jeffrey Mazurczak ’82, director of alumni relations at the school. “Charlie has built a company that not only is extremely successful, but one that cares for its employees in the true Jesuit hallmark of ‘cura personalis,’ meaning care of the whole person.”

The Alumni Merit Award is presented for distinguished professional achievement. DuBois, who became president of Standard Process in 1995, has been the recipient of several leadership and service awards, including two honorary doctorate degrees.

“It is my sincere honor to receive an award of merit from my high school,” said DuBois. “Throughout my years at the high school, we were taught to lead by example. The leadership qualities I learned there, including communication, collaboration and ethical decision-making, have helped me lead Standard Process and become an active leader in the health industry.”

Under his leadership, Standard Process has received a Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award, placement on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top 100 Workplaces in Southeastern Wisconsin for two consecutive years, the Wisconsin Governor’s Worksite Wellness Award, four consecutive placements on the Inc. 5000 lists, and three consecutive placements on the Deloitte Wisconsin 75 list.

DuBois is actively involved in the community and health industry. He serves as board chairman for the Child Abuse Education Foundation of Wisconsin and the Palmyra Community Foundation. He is a board member for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, Chiropractic Education Foundation, and Palmyra State Bank. DuBois was named 2009 Person of the Year by national magazine Dynamic Chiropractic, and he received the 2010 Brilliant Star Award from Northwestern Health Sciences University.
