St. Croix EDC: Elects new officers at annual meeting

Four Directors also Re-Elected to Board

St. Croix Economic Development Corporation (EDC) held its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 and Ryan Sicard of Somerset was elected to serve a 1-year term as president. Sicard previously served as the EDC’s first vice president. He is employed by the Somerset School District as an IT manager, and serves on the Somerset village board as well as the St. Croix County board of supervisors.

Roger Humphrey was elected first vice president. He resides in Woodville and is a real estate principal with Equity Marketing Group.

Marian Furlong was elected second vice president. She is president and CEO of Hudson Hospitals & Clinics, HealthPartners Family of Care.

Mark Casey, a senior vice president with First National Community Bank in New Richmond, was elected corporate secretary/treasurer.

Baldwin resident Tom Schumacher, a business attorney with Bakke Norman S.C., completed his term as president and will continue to serve on the EDC’s executive committee.

Four incumbent directors were re-elected to the EDC board — George Hauser, Paul Schwebach, Marian Furlong, and Roger Humphrey.

The board also accepted the 2010 audit report from Guinn, Vinopal & Zahradka, LLP.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Tom Schumacher received a memento for his service as EDC president from May 2010 to May 2011.

St. Croix EDC was organized in 1993 and serves the residents and businesses of St. Croix County, Wisconsin. It operates as the independent economic development arm of St. Croix County. Reflective activities include marketing and communications, business retention, expansion, recruitment, start-ups and incorporations, and business advocacy.
