Wisconsin Real Estate Community Remains Strong in Recessionary Times

Brookfield, Wisconsin – Shorewest, Realtors® is a company known for its contributions to the community and various organizations. In September, its generosity didn’t go unnoticed. At the WRA’s (Wisconsin Realtors® Association) 2011 Annual Fall Convention, Shorewest Vice President John P. Horning accepted the Distinguished Service Award on behalf of the company, which was honored for their many contributions to the WRA.

Horning served as president of the WRA in 2010-2011. During his term, Horning focused on enhancing services to help Realtors through the downturn in the market. Education was offered on handling Short Sale and Foreclosure properties, a focus was put on appraisal and financing challenges, and all Realtors in the state were given Digital Signature technology.

Horning’s leadership also focused on building relationships with government officials on the state and national levels in an effort to promote the rights of current and future home owners in Wisconsin.

“It has been a privilege to be able to serve the Wisconsin Realtors Association and its 14,000 members,” Horning says. “I enjoyed working with a talented team of volunteer leaders and staff that are so dedicated to the state’s real estate industry.”
