Scheibel Halaska: Mary Scheibel appointed chair of MMAC’s council of small business executives

MILWAUKEE (Nov. 9, 2011) – Mary Scheibel, founder and principal owner of Scheibel Halaska, a strategic marketing communications firm, is the new chair of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s Council of Small Business Executives (COSBE).

Scheibel was officially announced as chair during the MMAC’s all-member meeting today at Miller Park. During her two-year term, she will be responsible for leading the direction of the group and its programs and initiatives, in collaboration with other council members.

COSBE, which is led by CEOs from a diverse group of manufacturers and service companies throughout the four-county area, was established in 1986 to recognize and advance the vast contributions of small businesses in the region.

“Small business plays a vital role in the economic progress of the Milwaukee region,” said Scheibel. “I look forward to building on the great contributions of COSBE and its members as we seek to move our community forward.”

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce is a 150-year-old private, not-for-profit organization representing approximately 1,800 member businesses with 300,000 employees in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee counties and beyond.
