MILWAUKEE (Sept. 27, 2011) – Scheibel Halaska, a strategic marketing communications firm, has become the first Milwaukee-area agency to endorse the Institute for Advertising Ethics’ (IAE) newly established set of industry principles and practices.

The “Principles and Practices for Advertising” aim to inspire all industry professionals to practice the highest personal and professional ethics in advertising, public relations and marketing communications. The document includes extensive commentary from industry veterans to help define and illustrate the significance of the eight principles, which promote truth, transparency and fairness in all marketing activities.

The Institute for Advertising Ethics is administered by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), in partnership with the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) and the Missouri School of Journalism.

“Declaring our commitment to the IAE principles was a natural extension of our core business philosophy at SH,” said Andy Narrai, chief operating officer for Scheibel Halaska and national treasurer of the AAF. “In addition to supporting these principles, this endorsement reinforces our dedication to practicing the highest level of ethics in all of our business dealings.”

The IAE is guided by an independent Advisory Council under the leadership of executive director Wally Snyder, AAF president emeritus. “The IAE is pleased that Scheibel Halaska has rallied behind the IAE principles,” said Snyder. “By championing advertising ethics, firms like Scheibel Halaska are contributing to the trust our industry must earn daily with clients and consumers alike.”

The IAE plans to conduct webinars and host conferences to further explain and illustrate the principles, aiming to make the principles the industry standard. To learn more about the IAE or the “Principles and Practices for Advertising,” visit www.aaf.org.
