MADISON – The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) and the Office of the Commissioner of Railroads (OCR) will be closed on Friday, May 27, 2011 as employees take one of their 16 required furlough days. The PSC and the OCR will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, following the observance of Memorial Day.

Consumers requiring assistance with electric, natural gas, telephone, and water service disputes may file complaints online at during this time.

Employee furloughs for all state employees are part of the 2009 – 2011 state budgets. The furlough program temporarily reduces salary costs by assigning employees to various dates or periods of unpaid time during what would otherwise have been scheduled work time.
