MADISON – The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) and the Office of the Commissioner of Railroads (OCR) will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2011 as employees take one of their 16 required furlough days. The PSC and the OCR will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, February 12, following the observance of Presidents Day.

Consumers requiring assistance with electric, natural gas, telephone, and water service disputes may file complaints online at http://psc.wi.gov/apps40/complaint/consumer/FileComplaint.aspx during this time.

Employee furloughs for all state employees are part of the 2009 – 2011 state budgets. The furlough program temporarily reduces salary costs by assigning employees to various dates or periods of unpaid time during what would otherwise have been scheduled work time.
