Appleton, Wis. – Miron Construction Co., Inc. is the signature sponsor of the Big Little Silent Sports Auction, held in conjunction with the 48th annual Red Smith Sports Award Banquet, to be held on Tuesday, January 18th, at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.
The event features awards and scholarships for local adults and youths, presentations from national sports figures, and a silent sports memorabilia auction, with the proceeds going to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, a youth mentoring program that pairs local adults with children in need of guidance and support.
Past speakers have included Donald Driver, Aaron Kampman, and Gilbert Brown of the Green Bay Packers, hall of fame baseball players Bob Gibson and Whitey Herzog, and Jay Bilas, college basketball commentator and analyst for ESPN.

Last year’s event had nearly 2,000 people in attendance, and raised more than $20,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
