‘Eight is Great’ sweepstakes celebrates city’s ranking among ‘Best Places to Live’
Middleton, WI (Sept. 14, 2011) – As a nod to the city’s recent recognition by Money Magazine, the Middleton Tourism Commission has launched the Eight is Great Middleton Sweepstakes, a fall promotion that will reward weekly winners with thousands of dollars in giveaways.
Why is eight so great? Middleton this year ranked No. 8 on Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live,” the fourth straight time the city has landed on the list. To celebrate the city’s ranking, the tourism commission and local businesses are partnering to award eight prize packages – one a week through early November – that showcase Middleton’s top-flight lodging and dining opportunities, unique attractions and exceptional shopping.
“Once again, Middleton has been named one of the top places to live in the country, and we want to show people why we continue to be recognized,” Tourism Director Val Steel said. “It’s an honor being the top Wisconsin city on the list, and this promotion highlights what we know makes Middleton such an attractive destination.”
The sweepstakes also features other prizes that make traveling easier and more enjoyable, including an Apple iPad 2 and gas cards. In all, winners will receive thousands of dollars in giveaways during the eight-week contest.
“From our retailers to restaurants to attractions, we have plenty to offer visitors,” Middleton City Administrator Mike Davis said. “ We thought it was only natural to work with our local businesses to show people from across the region what makes Middleton such a great place.”
