Milwaukee, WI – The law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is pleased to announce Michael E. Hirsch has joined the firm as a staff attorney in its Milwaukee office, effective July 27, 2011. Mr. Hirsch will join the firm’s Transactional Practice Group, focusing his practice on real estate law, and in particular, eminent domain, condemnation and property matters.
“Michael’s abilities in property valuation, appraisal, contract and interpretation are excellent additions to our real estate practice,” said the Practice Group Chair of Michael Best’s Transactional Group, Gregory Lynch. “He brings a unique understanding of governmental processes as to transportation planning, design and engineering to the team. Our clients will benefit from Michael’s legal knowledge and business application of real estate appraisal theory and methodology.”
In addition, Hirsch has extensive experience in working with engineers, managers, designers and planners in State property matters. His education includes several courses in eminent domain, which he will apply as he identifies issues, reviews appraisals and counsels clients on the acquisition of property interests. Hirsch also has experience in representing buyers and sellers in real estate transactions, construction lien holders and mortgage holders in foreclosure actions and has handled civil litigation for matters for various clients.”
Prior to joining Michael Best, Hirsch served as a Senior Real Estate Specialist for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, and has taken several real estate appraisal courses at Waukesha County Technical College. Throughout his career he has worked as a general practice and real estate attorney and as a local real estate valuation appraiser.
