Madison, Wis – The Madison Public Library Foundation has teamed up with local brewers and chocolatiers for a new twist on its annual fall fundraising event on October 6. This year’s event ‘Ex Libris: A Review of Beer and Chocolate’ will feature artisanal beer and chocolate pairings from New Glarus Brewing Co., Ale Asylum, Furthermore Beer and Potosi Brewing Company and chocolatiers Gail Ambrosius and Candinas. Madison author Jim Miller will discuss foodie culture and his book, “The Eater Reader” as guests enjoy appetizers.

“The food we eat is as much a part of who we are as the books we read – ‘Ex Libris’ is really a celebration of both,” said Tom DeChant, event committee chair. “It’s a great opportunity to taste something new, enjoy fellow Madisonians, and, of course, support the library.”

Guests are invited to bid on the silent auction items ranging from a year’s supply of Organic Valley products to a bike from Pacific Cycle. All proceeds benefit the Madison Public Library Foundation to support facilities, services, and programs in each of the nine library branches.

“Our fall event is always an important piece of the foundation’s fundraising efforts, but I am particularly excited for this year’s event,” Jenni Collins, Executive Director of the foundation said. “Our tasting partners have come up with some interesting combinations and tickets are selling really quickly!”

The event will be 6 to 8pm on Oct. 6, at the Boardman Law Firm (1 S. Pinckney) overlooking the Capital Square. For ticket information visit mplfoundation.org or call 608.266.6318.
