Madison International Speedway: Season opener at MIS set for May 22nd

Free Admission to Oregon and Stoughton Residents

Oregon, WI- (Monday, May 9, 2011)- It’s time to wave the green flag on the weekly racing program at Madison International Speedway.

The Pepsi Weekly Racing Season Opener presented by Z-104 is scheduled for Sunday, May 22nd and will feature the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models, Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman, Roto Rooter Bandits, and the Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends.

Pit gates will open at 10:00 AM with practice from 11:30 – 12:45 PM, qualifying at 12:45 PM and racing at 2:00 PM. A practice session will also be held on Saturday, May 21st from Noon to 5:00 with free admission to the grandstands.

Something new in 2011 will be Community Nights where residents of designated communities will receive free admission with proof of residency. For the season opener all residents of Stoughton and Oregon will be admitted to the grandstands free of charge.

“We are really looking forward to our community nights. This is a way of thanking the area communities for their support and also to invite out people who either haven’t been to the track or it’s been a few years for them,” said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg.

The Weekly Racing program switches to Friday nights on June 3rd.

Enduro, Destruction Events, and Fireworks on May 28th at MIS

Saturday, May 28th will be a night of fun and excitement at MIS with Red Neck Round Up #1. This will feature a 200 lap four cylinder enduro, destruction events, and fireworks. Admission is only $10.00 per car load!!! The action gets going at 7:00 PM. This will also be the first of three fireworks events at MIS in 2011.

Events include a 200 lap four cylinder enduro on the “Ring of Fire”, Steel Wall Crash, Chain Race ,Double O, Bump and Run Relay, Flagpole Race, Spin to Win

Roll Over Contest, Trailer Race of Destruction, and Fireworks.

All this for $10.00 per car load…an unbelievable deal.
