Starting next fall, students at Madison Area Technical College’s Watertown campus will be enjoying a new student achievement center, science labs and a state-of-the-art active learning classroom.

It’s all part of an 8,000 square foot addition that’s being constructed at the campus. Funding for the $2.1 million expansion was approved by voters in a referendum last year. The project is scheduled to be completed by next August.

“This expansion will help us continue to meet the growing demand for highly skilled workers by providing students with easy access to academic support and services,” says Madison College President Bettsey Barhorst.

The building project also includes a 3,900 square foot renovation of the campus.

“As the only higher education provider in the Watertown community, we hope these learning facility updates will help us serve even more students,” says Madison College Provost Terry Webb.

The College is also expanding and renovating regional campuses in Fort Atkinson, Reedsburg and Portage. To learn more about Madison College’s campus building projects, go to http://matcmadison.edu/construction-update.
