Contact: Bill Bessette (608) 246-6127

Madison Area Technical College is hosting a series of free career fairs during the month of August. The fairs will focus on apprenticeship training and construction careers.

Employers, tradespersons and community-based organizations will be available to talk about education and training opportunities in carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other construction trades. There will also be updates on Madison College’s campus building projects.

Here’s the schedule for the upcoming Construction Career Fairs:

Monday, August 8 (3 to 7 p.m.) – Reedsburg campus
Wednesday, August 10 (5 to 7 p.m.) – Portage campus
Thursday, August 18 (8:30 to 11:30 a.m.) – Fort Atkinson campus
Thursday, August 18 (1 to 4 p.m.) – Watertown campus
Tuesday, August 30 (3 to 7 p.m.) – Truax campus (Madison)

Apprentices earn wages while they learn, which makes their educational experience unique and affordable. Apprenticeship is also considered one of the most effective and rewarding paths to a high-paying career.
