Madison College: Holding open house

Contact: Bill Bessette (608) 246-6127

Madison Area Technical College serves approximately 40,000 individuals annually, providing “real world smart” education through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, beral arts and sciences, adult basic education and continuing education, as well as customized training for employers.

When it comes to choosing a college, students and parents usually have a long list of questions.

How much will it cost? Will my credits transfer? What percentage of students graduate?

In an effort to help answer those questions and more, Madison Area Technical College is holding an Open House on Friday, November 18, at the Truax campus. Prospective students will be able to talk one-on-one with deans, teachers and students about the 144 careers available to them at Madison College. They’ll also have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to take a college class in biotechnology, criminal justice, surgical technology, marketing, visual communications, business management or the trades.

Remember that question about the cost of college? There will also be information about Madison College’s “TransferU” program, which can save students an average of $11,000 a year in tuition and fees.

The Open House is free. To register, go to http://intranet.matcmadison.edu/career-pathways/?cpid=14. For more information, call Vicki Saffran at (608) 243-4210.
