MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 27, 2011) – With good aim and $1, attendees of the 2011 Wisconsin Truck Expo were able to send management team members of JX Peterbilt plunging into a dunk tank – all for a good cause.
The dunk tank was part of the company’s exhibit at the truck show to raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI), a charity the company has supported for years. JX Enterprises (JXE), the parent company of JX Peterbilt, matched the collected donation of $206, for a total contribution of $412.
“It was a way to bring an entertaining element to our show exhibit while supporting a worthy cause,” said Eric Jorgensen, President and CEO of JX Enterprises. “When it comes to giving, the trucking industry has a big heart – as evidenced by the annual World’s Largest Truck Convoy, which also supports Special Olympics. JXE is always grateful to help out and our employees are very generous and volunteer oriented.”
Volunteering to take turns in the dunk tank were Jorgensen; Herman Goth (General Manager of JX Peterbilt – Madison); Greg Torosian (Operations Manager at JX Peterbilt – Waukesha); and Brad Adams (Parts Manager at JX Peterbilt – Madison).
It cost $1 for a single throw and $5 for six throws. Additionally, employees at all 15 company branches were encouraged to make a donation and if they were not able to attend the show themselves, employees at the show made the throws for them.
