(Appleton, WI) – Hoffman LLC, the Appleton-based planning, design, and construction firm, was named a 2011 BUILD Wisconsin Award winner by The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin for their work on Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh’s newest campus, Eden Meadows. The project was recognized in the Design Build – New Construction category with the award presentation set for December 1, 2011, in Madison.

Hoffman teamed with Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh on the planning, design, and construction of two Eden Green House® Homes—the first facilities of their kind in Wisconsin. The Green House Homes are part of the 77-acre Eden Meadow campus, which also includes Eden Rehabilitation Suites, a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility for short-term rehabilitation.

The Green House® Homes serve as a place where residents can receive assistance and support with activities of daily living and clinical care, and services to promote social and spiritual well-being. Eden Rehabilitation Suites is the premier facility for those needing short-term rehabilitation while recovering from knee and hip replacements, surgeries, accidents or other illnesses resulting in hospitalization.

Hoffman’s design strategies were aimed at improving long-term performance and offering a healthy living and working environment for residents and staff. All three buildings, which feature a person-centered design that provides a homelike environment versus an institutional setting, were developed following Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) guidelines and principles.

“With Hoffman, it’s all about listening and understanding first, and I think that’s why we received a successful project,” explained Craig Ubbelohde, LHO President/CEO. “They were able to transform our vision of a truly unique campus that offers a combination of services into a reality, which in turn helps set us apart from others in the market.”

Hoffman Owner and President, Paul J. Hoffman says that while it’s an honor to have the work of the Hoffman team recognized by the AGC of Wisconsin, the acknowledgement truly belongs to the LHO leadership group. “Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh is committed to responding to the evolving needs of older adults and bringing innovative services to the Oshkosh community,” Hoffman stated. ”We worked collaboratively with them from the beginning to provide them with a responsible business solution, improve their business operations, and assist Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh to bring their important mission and vision to life.”
