Milwaukee attorney Tim Trecek selected as recipient of Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award
Milwaukee, Wis. – Tim Trecek, a managing partner at both the Milwaukee and West Bend offices of the law firm Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C., was recently selected as the recipient of the prestigious Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year award by the Wisconsin Association of Justice. The annual award is presented to an attorney who demonstrates professional excellence, as well as a commitment to advocating for injured consumers.
“Tim is more than deserving of this honor. He has a proven record of success and has demonstrated a profound commitment to his clients. I feel fortunate to work with him,” said Habush Habush & Rottier President Dan Rottier. The award is named for Robert Habush, Chairman of the Board of Habush Habush & Rottier, a prominent Wisconsin personal injury attorney.
Trecek has been named the recipient of this award after achieving several major victories for clients. Most recently, in February of 2011, Mr. Trecek obtained a $16 million award on behalf of eight injured workers involved in a dust explosion at the WE Energies Oak Creek plant. This award is the largest in state history involving injuries caused by an explosion of Powder River Basin coal dust, and is the fourth multi-million dollar recovery secured from the state’s largest utility by Trecek.
Trecek has also been named a 2008 Wisconsin “Leader in the Law,” a Milwaukee Magazine “Super Lawyer” each year since 2006, and a Top 50 “Super Lawyer” in 2010 and 2011, as well as a 2011 “Milwaukee Area Top 25. ” He recently completed nine years as a Milwaukee Representative to the Office of Lawyer Regulation, having been appointed by the Supreme Court. He is in his sixth year of teaching advanced trial advocacy at Marquette for those students who want to develop a career in litigation. He is also actively involved in his church and the community. Trecek earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 1993 and resides in Franklin with his wife, Karyn, and three daughters.
