Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau: GMCVB 2011 kick-off event will feature Lalia Rach as the guest speaker

(Madison, WI) The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) will host their annual Kick-Off at the Monona Terrace® Community and Convention Center from 4-6:30 PM on January 26, 2011.

This year’s event will feature acclaimed travel and tourism speaker Dr. Lalia Rach, presenting:”Moving Forward in the Era of Uncertainty.” Dr. Rach is the former dean and professor of the distinguished NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management and a current GMCVB Board member. Her presentations are fast-paced, down-to-earth and always entertaining.

Also, speaking will be Deb Archer, President and CEO of the GMCVB, WI Department of Tourism Secretary, Stephanie Klett and Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, as well as board member Bill Haight from In Business Magazine and Michelle Dama from Michael Best & Friedrich.

A networking reception will follow the presentation with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The purpose of the event is to energize GMCVB partners on the importance of tourism and discuss upcoming priorities for the GMCVB.
