Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau: Announces new board members

(Madison, WI) The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is pleased to welcome the newest members of their Board of Directors:

* Mark Clear, District 19 Member, City of Madison Common Council

* Lynn Hobbie, Senior Vice President, Madison Gas & Electric

* Ruth Shelly, Executive Director, Madison Children’s Museum

* Jeff Tyler, Vice President & Market Manager, Clear Channel

The GMCVB is the greater Madison area’s official destination management organization. The GMCVB is responsible for attracting new destination events to the community, as well as providing service and support to existing and repeat events, and comprehensive information to visitors to the area. Traveler expenditures equaled over $1 billion in estimated direct spending for Dane County in 2009.

Each new director will serve a two year term with an option to renew. The GMCVB Board is responsible for governing the Bureau, the direction of its work and the control of its property. The Board reviews and directs all Bureau policies and assumes responsibility for directing its finances and affairs.

The GMCVB would like to thank the following retiring directors for their service and dedication to the GMCVB and industry, while serving on the GMCVB board.
