Madison–Wednesday Governor Walker will sign SSSB6, which was sent to his desk by the Legislature last week.

It will be the seventh special session bill Governor Walker signs into law. The legislation, which received bipartisan support, will replace the current Department of Commerce with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation—a public-private partnership whose sole mission will be to assist the private sector in job creation.

“I am thrilled the Legislature delivered this bill to my desk,” said Walker. “This legislation will help state government be more nimble as it works with job creators to put Wisconsinites back to work.”

When: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday February 9, 2011

Where: Governor’s Conference Room

Governor Walker will be holding a brief media availability at this event.
