Madison – Governor Scott Walker will sign Senate Bill 21 today which creates a Tax Incremental Funding (TIF) District in the Town of Brookfield, Waukesha County for economic development.

TIF Districts allow communities to make job creation and economic development a priority by transferring the district’s tax obligation to the costs of development through bonding.

“Creating this TIF District in the Town of Brookfield is about helping the private sector put 250,000 Wisconsinites back to work,” Governor Walker said. “We are focused on doing everything we can to make it easier for employers to do business and put more people to work, and this TIF District is another tool for job creation. I thank Senators Rich Zipperer and Randy Hopper as well as Representatives Paul Farrow and Mary Williams for their work on this issue.”

Information on Governor Walker’s bill signing is below:

When: Today, 2:00pm

Where: Brookfield Town Hall

Meeting/Multipurpose Room

645 North Janacek Road
