Madison – Governor Scott Walker will serve breakfast at the Iowa County and Rock County Dairy Breakfasts tomorrow to kick-off June Dairy Month.

“Dairy breakfasts are a great way to come together to celebrate Wisconsin’s famous agriculture industry,” Governor Walker said. “I look forward to serving some great breakfast and visiting with hard-working Wisconsin families all across our state in the month ahead.”

According to a study by a UW professor, the dairy industry contributes more than $26.5 billion per year to Wisconsin’s economy and employs more than 146,000 people. With more than 125 cheese plants and 12,000 dairy farms, Wisconsin produces 600 varieties of cheese—more than any other state, according to the WI Agricultural Statistics Service and WI Milk Marketing Board.
